Black Dell

Black Dell

The Dell XPS M1710 is the latest gaming laptop Dell's premium, which replaces the current XPS M170. The M1710 has a 17 "widescreen and comes in a choice two colors, "formula red" or "metallic black". The interior houses the 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo, up to 4 GB of RAM and the icing on the cake – and more nVidia Go 7900 GTX graphics with 512MB of memory.

Dell has really put a lot of attention in the design, marketing, and support for this product and it shows! It has the best graphics performance of a laptop I've seen to date (and better than most computers) and think you can get your XPS M1710 configured GPU is faster. As if the performance was not enough, the small LED visual and customizable settings actually set it apart from others. The XPS line dedicated support and technical expertise means that the back is covered if you ever need help. The price tag may scare some of you, but when compared with the market competition, the value is actually very good for performance and functionality. The Dell XPS M1710 Metallic Black Armor laptop really is the closest performance a user has a desktop replacement.

The 17-inch TrueLife screen has the same 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution as the XPS M170, but it is noticeably brighter. With the processing power available, which means an incredibly detailed game performance, with great frame rates. The screen is also excellent for watching movies and television. No integrated TV tuner is present, but an optional external TV tuner and remote costs $ 130. Dell has gone with an integrated subwoofer to complement the two front speakers mounted. The result is a more substantial sound than most laptops offer.

The XPS M1710 includes a full-size keyboard, but lacks a separate numeric keypad, as found in some desktop replacements, such as the Satellite P105-S921, The HP Pavilion dv8000 and the Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600. The mouse buttons are very large XPS M1710, however, and the touch pad, which features a backlit XPS logo, is appropriately sized. The touch pad also has arrows along the right and bottom edges, highlighting where to put your finger when using the improved software platform to scroll through documents or Web pages.

For an operating system, the M1710 runs Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, which has features to organize and play all your photos, videos and music. Unfortunately, the system lacks a TV tuner. You can, however, purchase a USB external tuner separately. For a more portable AV-centric, check out my review of the Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600, which has an integrated TV tuner and a slew of ports.

Add to all that the XPS M1710 the solid construction and feel, sexy top and 16 multicolor LEDs along the sides and you got yourself a very cool, very in operation, high-performance premium gaming notebook like no other.

Shirley Temple's superstardom in the 1930s was associated with Twentieth Century Fox, but before Fox locked her down she made the two films for Paramount bundled here. It was 1934, her breakthrough year, and these pictures are not quite yet the showcase vehicles Fox would assemble for their pint-sized meal ticket. In Little Miss Marker, Shirley comes under the wing of Sorrowful Jones (Adolphe Menj...

The Fab Four from Liverpool--John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr--in their first movie. Nobody expected A Hard Day's Night to be much more than a quick exploitation of a passing musical fad, but when the film opened it immediately seduced the world--even the stuffiest critics fell over themselves in praise (highbrow Dwight Macdonald called it "not only a gay, spontaneous,...
