What is the point to a home server?
This may seem a silly question, but is actually a serious problem. I'm thinking about the functioning of a repair business from my home PC. I wondered what the point of a home server really is. Also, when I learn more, I would sell the space for webpages. If anyone could help with an eBook on making money from the servers and stuff, I'd be grateful. The main thing I want to know what the point of it is. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
1) For the Home Server, you can use the server to store files and other important documents. You can also create a domain, or a proxy server, to limit other computers or users at the same time to others. 2) Home Server and Web server are 2 completely different things. 3) Execution a web server is not worth the money, unless you have a number of bandwidth due to illness, and many servers. In places such as network solutions, you can buy a domain and use their servers for storage and e-mail for about 100 to 200 dollars a year. A system can support 1 DNS, and 1 site, so is it worth the worth sacrificing bandwidth of $ 200 a year? If you have a multitude of quality machines and services business from your ISP, consider making each web server a Linux based web server. more reliable and easier to maintain. You will thank me in the long term, compared with a Windows-based server Internet.
