Not all inkjet printers using stepper motors?

No, not a step by step. I guess you could used for a secondary task on the printer as loading and feeding the paper. I should also say that DC motors can be very accurate if used with a encoder (rotation sensor) and a closed loop control, however, step by step are usually used on printers because they need any sensor or control loop.
