What is the best way to resolve the 1000's from the old large format negatives?
They were taken by my late parents. Scanning lead too long and scanners seem to be of 35 mm only, not 120 size and some glass plates. I was thinking of building a light box and taking photos of them and make them posative in Photoshop. This allowed me to know what are the interesting ones. What suggestions do you have?
Chart the light is good idea, be careful with the heat, if you have regular scanner carefully place the film side down, place the most negative light bulb not negative lid cover with tissue paper or opaque plastic about not putting a negative light, it can cause damage (fusion of cinema), scanning into Photoshop and inverted in Photoshop, crop, adjust contrast and brightness, save copy as, put everything in the folder, rename the number + name, copy a CD for backup, then sort from there, there are larger scanners to do this, they cost more, and developing some stores may also carry out studies of this process, there is room personal dark device development for sale, http://www.frugalphotographer.com/Microfilm_examples.htm
