Despite the ever increasing demand and popularity of portable gaming, there is still a persistent problem simply not going away. Gaming laptops are really suited for video games in the first place?
Many players are dying excited even scoff at the notion of video games on a laptop. The two are not merely compatible, they are not counted. Maintain a notebook is simply too small and too compact to handle all that heat – literally, figuratively and physically.
Achieving high performance in general means any computer, either desktop or laptop, they emit a large amount of heat. And placing all high-end components in a space so small small only adds to this problem. Many players complain that they simply produce too much heat, portable games and not the increasingly persistent problem of frying your rig. Given the fact that many players also have a long-term obsession for overclocking gives this weight concern further.
By monitoring the various gaming forums, you will hear constant stories of gaming laptops simply can not handle all that heat. And then there is the question fan noise as your gaming platform tries to keep everything on the cool side. Many gaming laptops too noisy and would rather try their luck with a PC game instead.
Besides why waste all that money on a portable game when you can get a much better game system at a price much cheaper to go with a desktop PC. This question of the price advantage is one of the most attractive arguments for not buying a gaming laptop.
The players very legitimate arguments, however, there are several that the bitter battle and also care to know and do. One has to do with the idea of updating from gaming laptops can not be upgraded as easily as a desktop PC. In fact, with most laptops you can upgrade the RAM with easily if you have free slots available. You can also upgrade the hard drive, but depending on the notebook model, other components like graphics cards and processors can be difficult (if not impossible, or worth) to upgrade on a laptop compared to upgrading a desktop PC.
Moreover, with a desktop PC, there is amble room for improvement in making it far more suitable candidate, and game systems require be constantly updated, if you want the best gaming performance possible, which after all is the unwritten creed of most real players. They want what better and they want it now.
However, the major notebook vendors know a good thing (nonprofit), when they see it and are jumping in entire market for portable games. We are constantly seeing more and more powerful game systems coming to market. We've recently seen Dell influencing the Use of Alienware (Dell, you own) with the launch of new all-powerful Alienware m17x through its marketing outlets and through Alienware.
It's powerful and mobile gaming systems that gradually m17x defeat this argument that the laptops are not good for games. The m17x delivers high performance end with an Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-overclockable dual processor and 1 gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 280 graphics card (SLI enabled 1,024 MB) and up to 8GB of DDR3 dual Sharing impressive 1333 MHz Specifications many would blush with envy desktop.
Moreover, there is the whole question of style over the performance. Many players just want and desire that all flash and style cool high-end gaming laptops. Just maybe the coolest looking devices on the planet. They are also easier to lug around a desktop PC, no matter which way you swing.
Laptops for gaming, despite the obvious objections Die hard gamers with the update, overheating, fan noise and high prices are probably here to stay and is slowly eating into the desktop market games. If they can also fully capture the hearts of the players really is an entirely different issue, which will not be answered in the short term.
