My HP C3100 printer will not print when I put the black ink cartridge in, and has an E on the LCD screen?
But when I use black ink is printed out, but the lights flash off saying its black ink. Sounds as a problem with the ink cartridge. Did you just change the black ink cartridge and it started doing this? If so you may need to perform an alignment head, it sounds like it is printing, but not black. Try the alignment of the head and if that does not help, do a nozzle check and head cleaning, if indicated for control of the nozzle. There should be a clogged print head, because it has an ink cartridge. I guess you are using HP ink cartridges OEM and no refills. If you are using spare parts, poses a new set of circumstances. The printhead can more than likely to be clogged, as these ink cartridges come with a built-in print head and if they have to fill, then the print head can be made. In addition, the inks do not are the same as the HP OEM and can lead to obstruction of the printhead. If you are only using HP ink cartridges, I'd say do alignment head. If you are using spare parts, try the control of the nozzle and head cleaning.
