How can a circuit breaker tested to ensure it is working.?
I was removing old dishwasher was too lazy to go to the electric meter box of the house and locate the circuit breaker. Instead, I "short", the "hot wire" to the ground with a screwdriver in the hope of activating the switch off. Instead, a piece of molten copper wire in the screwdriver and screwdriver tip was ruined. The breaker not turn off and the cable remains energized. Now I'm worried that the switch is not working properly. Is there a way to test a circuit breaker to sure it works properly?
Leave the test circuit breakers and live to a professional. Your methods might cost her life, especially in an area where you can come into contact with water or soil. Like a water pipe.
