I want to install Linux on a laptop Sony VIAO old, but I'm having some problems, like Linux to use?
I have a Sony VIAO PCG-7D2L who came with XP Pro I was format and reinstall XP, but still can not accept the product key, and the label is unreadable on my VIAO. How do I delete the installation part of XP and install Linux. Also do I use Linux? My company wants to explore open source, but I'm totally lost. PLEASE HELP!
Personally I used Debian. Linux is generally safe if you install only what you really need. I used it as a gateway / router / firewall so that the PRI had current in the school where I worked.
