Most workers in the construction sector are claimed happily competent in all types of fields. Years of experience working in the industry tends to make many people consider themselves experts when in fact their experience are not recognized by any official body.
In terms of training scaffolding, the question of jurisdiction of vital importance, as in most countries is now the case that by using a scaffold, a competent person should be on-site overview of work and working conditions. This competent person is defined by the training they have had on the construction, use and dismantling scaffolding structures.
Competency is defined by the body to regulate the use of scaffolding, PASMA. It is the work of this body to ensure that enough people with sufficient training to meet the standards and regulations for use of scaffolding. These regulations must be observed by persons working in and around the stage and it is the responsibility competent person on site to keep all security workers and deny, or at least minimize the possible dangers.

The training should also include ways to identify unhealthy working conditions and ways in which these risks can actively reduce through efficient remedies. This training gives him the authority of a competent person to any other person when it comes to the scaffold and the immediate area, which are the two words in the trade that recall, the competence and authority.
This competent person need not be an external party and increasingly many in the trade training are sufficient to assert jurisdiction. Access to the gallows should also be observed through the knowledge of their training on specific risks.
An important responsibility of the person concerns relevant to the effects of weather on the integrity of the scaffold. Weather conditions such as storms and high winds or, in these conditions corresponds the competent person to use their training and consider whether it is safe for workers to attack the scaffolding structure. Without specific information about the speeds safe working wind corresponds to the person competent to assess the situation at any specific site and put in place sufficient security measures to ensure safety of workers.
When it comes to working at height, safety is always a major concern. It is the responsibility of the employer that provided is a competent person on site to supervise the work and ensure that everyone on the scaffold have sufficient training and knowledge to work safely that minimizes the risks and takes into account all risks that may be present. When it comes to safety, diligence is essential to safe working methods.
